Handed your phone to your little nephew, and when you got it back all your messages were gone? Had a lovers tiff and deleted all his messages; now that you guys have patched up you want to read all those beautiful messages again, but have no clue how to get them back? Well, not all hope is lost. Given below are some easy methods to retrieve the deleted messages on your iPhone, without breaking a sweat. Do keep in mind though, these aren’t foolproof methods, and there could be chances that you may not be able to retrieve all your messages. You could choose one of the following methods depending on whether your messages are from before, or after your last sync with iTunes.

To retrieve messages received before your last sync with iTunes
Connect your iPhone to the computer, and launch iTunes. (Do not let iTunes sync with your phone automatically!)
Follow this path –
Summary > Backups > This computer > Restore from Backup …

Alternatively, you could right-click on the phone icon in iTunes, and select Restore Backup …
NOTE: Restoring your phone will delete all existing data on your phone, and replace it with data that was last backed up on iTunes.

That should restore all your messages from the last time you synced your phone with iTunes.

To retrieve messages received after your last sync with iTunes
Connect your phone to the computer, and launch iTunes (Do not let iTunes sync with your phone automatically!)
Follow this path –
Summary > Backups > Backup Now
Once the backup is created, follow this path –
Summary > Backups > This computer > Restore from Backup…

Alternatively, you could right-click on the phone icon in iTunes, and select Restore Backup …
This should help you recover the messages that were deleted after the last scheduled backup.

If you have an iCloud account, you could restore your data from it too, provided you haven’t synced with iCloud after you deleted your messages.

There also are a lot of ease-to-use software that can help you with recovering your lost messages. Some of these software are mentioned below –
TextPad
SIM Card Data Recovery software
Tansee iPhone Transfer SMS
DiskAid for Mac or Windows (for jailbroken phones)
iPhone Backup Extractor for Mac
Tenorshare iPhone Data Recovery
Wondershare Data Recovery for Mac
So good luck, and hope you retrieve your messages. And for those guys who accidentally deleted the message of their crush, and don’t have their number, don’t worry, she’ll call! Cheers.
