TinyUmbrella is software written in Java, deleoped by Notcomm, that can be used to save SHSH blobs of the current iOS version your device is running. SHSH blobs comes handy when you ever decide to downgrade your device back to that firmware even if Apple has stopped signing that firmware.
What is an SHSH?
An SHSH is a secure signature hash. Basically its a unique key. That's all you need to know. Don't stuff your head into complicated things.
Why do you need SHSHs?
Apple only allows you to restore to the firmwares they 'sign'. This 'signing' only lasts for a limited time. Once they stop 'signing' the SHSHs for a firmware, there is no way to restore that firmware ever again.
So you are always advised to save SHSH blobs of your current firmware so that you can downgrade your device back to that firmware when Apple stops signing it. To save SHSH blobs of your iOs device, connect it with computer via USB cable and run Tinyumbrella. Finally hit Save SHSH button.
